The accommodation and location
As you drive along the private concreted farm track, you'll begin to get the feeling that you are heading for something quite unique and special.
A place that not only feels removed from the hustle and bustle of daily life, but somewhere that takes your breath away as the countryside and the woodlands envelop you from all around. Look up - there's a good chance you'll see a red kite or a buzzard watching your approach.
Inside the cottages, the vibe is light, airy and open with big French doors overlooking the countryside. Stone walls, slate floors and wooden beams abound.
Upper Barn, which sleeps 2, enjoys a fully open plan kitchen / diner and lounge area, and Lower Barn (sleeps 4) benefits from an open plan kitchen / diner with a separate lounge. Both properties have wood-burning stoves, and they are also centrally heated.
A breakfast bar is provided for dining in Upper Barn, whilst Lower Barn has a table and chairs to seat four.
Worth a mention here is Caffi'r Caban (Cabin Cafe) - approximately a 15 minute walk away at Castell Henllys and open from 10am to 4.30pm serving drinks, cakes, treats, breakfasts and light lunches.
Upper Barn has a double bed, and Lower Barn has a King size bed plus an additional twin bedroom - ideal for younger members of the family.
Outside, you will find a furnished patio area for each property - both enjoying views of the woodlands and countryside. There are also shared grassy garden areas to enjoy - perfect for a picnic or two.
Further afield, there are stunning woodlands to discover, a reconstructed Iron Age farmstead to explore, the Preseli Hills to hike, and miles upon miles of the Pembrokeshire coast to enjoy.
