The accommodation and location
Situated on the slopes of Carningli at mountain west, Garn Isaf boasts stunning views over Newport Bay to the north and Dinas Head to the west. This simply appointed, no frills but comfortable single storey residence is surrounded by fields and woodland, and is approached via a private track.
With spectacular views from the living area and sun room, you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to deciding which window to soak up the vista through first!
There are three bedrooms - 2 doubles and a single room, all with views over mountain fields which quite often contain Pembrokeshire mountain ponies.
Outside you find a lawned garden with views of Newport Bay below. There's ample space for picnics, and outdoor seating areas are provided too. There are also 3 acres of paddocks abounding with wildlife to enjoy.
The kitchen comes fully loaded with everything you'll need to conjure up some creative lunches and suppers. There's a country style electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher and a washing machine - all the mod cons you could possibly need whilst enjoying your break in the countryside. If you don't fancy cooking - Newport is a short drive away where you'll find ample pubs and restaurants to enjoy.
Surroundings
Set in the rugged north Pembrokeshire countryside means there are walks from the doorstep - head up hill and take a stroll onto the mountain where you'll enjoy spectacular views over Newport and Fishguard Bays. Climb up onto Carn Ffoi (an ancient hill fort) where you'll see the summit of Carningli in the distance.
Stone bridge over river Ceunant, a 10 min walk from Garn Isaf.If the coastline is more preferable, then head down to Parrog in Newport where you can join the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. Walk along the estuary to head north towards St Dogmaels or walk along the old quay wall to follow the path towards Fishguard - either way, you'll be stunned by the cliff top views that make this section of the coastal path so special.
